How Doctors in Dallas Get More Patients
Dallas-Fort Worth added more people since 2020 than any other metro in America, and most of them moved north. Here is how to be the doctor they find.

No metro in America has grown like Dallas-Fort Worth. It added 838,863 residents from 2020 to 2025, more than any other U.S. metro, and now counts 8.5 million people, according to the Census Bureau. Every one of those new residents needs a doctor. The question for your practice is simple: when they look, do they find you?
The Growth Went North
The new patients did not spread out evenly. They landed in the northern suburbs:
- Collin County (Plano, Frisco, McKinney): up 21.7%, adding 230,978 people.
- Denton County (Denton, Little Elm, Prosper): up 18.0%, adding 162,816 people.
- Dallas County: up 1.9%.
A family that just moved to Frisco has no doctor, no neighbor to ask and no referral. They open a phone and search. If your practice is in Uptown but your patients increasingly live in Plano, your website has to say so.
The Medical District Is Growing Too
In 2024 Children's Health and UT Southwestern broke ground on a $5 billion, 552-bed pediatric campus in the Southwestern Medical District. Large systems are investing to meet the same growth you are trying to reach. Independent physicians compete best by being easy to find, easy to trust and easy to book.
In a fast-growing market, the doctor who is easiest to find often gets the patient before anyone else is considered.
Three Moves That Win the Northern Suburbs
1. Pages for the Places You Serve
Patients search by their own town: "knee surgeon Frisco," "pediatrician McKinney." Give each community you serve a page worth reading, with directions, parking and the services offered there. A site that only says "Dallas" misses them.
2. A Google Profile for Every Office
If you see patients in more than one location, each office needs its own complete Google Business Profile with real photos, hours and services. See Google Business Profile for Doctors: A Complete Setup Guide.
3. Be the Answer When They Ask AI
New arrivals increasingly ask ChatGPT and Google's AI who to see. Those answers name a few doctors, not ten, and they lean on clear credentials, consistent details and specific reviews. Read How Patients Use ChatGPT to Choose a Doctor (and How to Be the Answer).
Speak to the Whole City
About 42% of the City of Dallas is Hispanic, according to the Census Bureau's American Community Survey. If your practice serves Spanish-speaking families, Spanish versions of your key pages let them find and choose you in the language they search in.
